May 26, Psalm 94:12-13

“How blessed the man you train, God, the woman you instruct in your Word, Providing a circle of quiet within the clamor of evil, while a jail is being built for the wicked. God will never walk away from his people, never desert his precious people. Rest assured that justice is on its way and every good heart put right.”

Psalm 94:12-13 MSG – A verse of the day from the Bible presented in Eugene Peterson’s contemporary version called The Message. Accompanied by a personal reflection below.

Are you feeling alone, Believer?  Do you feel deserted?  Well, banish those thoughts, and take heart in the comforting words of the Psalmist who assures that you are, in fact, blessed.  You are blessed, and you will remain in perfect calm and quiet surrounded by God’s protection and provision.  And even though the promise includes reassurance for divine justice in case you have been wronged, I say to you to perish the thought, and focus instead on how blessed you already are.  What will you gain from being avenged, anyway?
