December 7, John 1:14

“The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.”

John1:14 MSGA verse of the day from the Bible presented in Eugene Peterson’s contemporary version called The Message. Accompanied by a personal reflection below.

Flesh and blood.  The most omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Supreme Being took on a perishable body made of flesh and blood, and “moved into the neighborhood”.  Did you notice?  Did you pause to wonder why?  What are you going to do about it?  John, the writer of this book, who witnessed this impossible fact presents to you this Word.  Do you see?  Can you hear?
