December 4, Psalm 63:3-4

“So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open, drinking in your strength and glory. In your generous love I am really living at last! My lips brim praises like fountains. I bless you every time I take a breath; My arms wave like banners of praise to you.”

Psalm 63:3-4 MSGA verse of the day from the Bible presented in Eugene Peterson’s contemporary version called The Message. Accompanied by a personal reflection below.

Do you see what the Psalmist is doing here?  He’s using all his senses to experience the presence of God in his life.  He is present in the moment using his physical body and faculties of sight, taste, sound, and touch to express himself to God, and in turn, to experience God’s love.  Do you do that?  David is a shining example for unabashed and even over-the-top expressions of praise.

  1. Yes, this scripture spoke to my heart this morning when I read it from my daily Bible reading plan. David praised and worshipped without any inhibitions or concerns about what others would think. His heart’s desire was to bless Our Lord with all that was within him. In doing so, David was blessed beyond compare.

    1. Absolutely! And you, my dear, are another fine example as well!
