This is such a good photo. I even remember the blog post about the building of this structure. 🙂
Haha, you have an excellent memory, sir! I wish I could find that post, tho…! BTW, my husband might disagree with you about the picture — he told me he appreciates my sentiment but does not believe the picture features his best side! I told him it doesn’t matter, it showcases his inventiveness, persistence, creativity, and drive. 🙂

It definitely showcases all of that. Kudos to him. Here is the blog post: https://smritidisaac.wordpress.com/2013/05/26/a-trellis-for-shade-and-the-future-home-of-a-clematis-vine-my-husbands-handiwork-of-the-day/ (I consider myself the unofficial archivist of your blog.)
FANTastic! That was TWO years ago! As you can see, I have been remiss with my intentions — that needed a lot of good effort to bring them to reality! Nonetheless, we have enjoyed hanging out in that corner of our backyard with and without shade over the years. The “deck” was also built by my husband in the summer of 2009. And to provide further example of his creativity and doggedness, that entire area was a huge mess of bushes and whatnot in a deep ditch like area, and in the year 2000, my husband cleared out all the brush and reclaimed the land by dumping several tonnes of dirt into it and built a retaining wall onto which he then dug post holes and put up a fence. Later, the deck came along in that spot. He built the deck around the large trees that are in that corner.
