November 25, Luke 19:10

“Jesus said, “Today is salvation day in this home! Here he is: Zacchaeus, son of Abraham! For the Son of Man came to find and restore the lost.””

Luke 19:10 MSGA verse of the day from the Bible presented in Eugene Peterson’s contemporary version called The Message. Accompanied by a personal reflection below.

Jesus’ words ring true even today.  He comes to find and restore the lost.  Sometimes, the lost don’t even realize they are lost, and they aren’t even looking — unless, of course, they’re looking like Zacchaeus was looking — from the sidelines.  And then, they realize that Jesus has come to them, for them.

  1. Zacchaeus: “short of stature but long on curiosity” as someone once wrote. 🙂

    1. Excellent recall abilities!

      1. I must confess that the same reading covered by your devotional was suggested as a related blog post at the bottom of the page and I just clicked on that and re-read it.
