On Sept. 15, 1963, four black girls were killed when a bomb went off during Sunday services at a Baptist church in Birmingham, Alabama, in the deadliest act of the civil rights era.
On Sept. 15, 1857, William Howard Taft, the only person to serve as both United States president and chief justice of the United States Supreme Court, was born. Following his death on March 8, 1930, his obituary appeared in The Times.

The meal will finish with Sooji Halwa (a dessert made with fine semolina roasted in clarified butter and seasoned with sugar, saffron and golden raisins).

My firstborn is the new Mirchi! She just started college two weeks ago, and auditioned for the group. We just found out that she and one other boy were the ONLY TWO selected from the 40+ students that auditioned!
The first cut was 13 students, and then yesterday from the 13, 2 made it: she was one of them! Check out this video from the 2011 season.
