Mumford and Sons – Roll Away Your Stone (live)
Roll away your stone, I’ll roll away mine
Together we can see what we will find
Don’t leave me alone at this time,
For I’m afraid of what I will discover inside
Cause you told me that I would find a hole,
Within the fragile substance of my soul
And I have filled this void with things unreal,
And all the while my character it steals
Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see
It seems that all my bridges have been burned,
But you say that’s exactly how this grace thing works
It’s not the long walk home that will change this heart,
But the welcome I receive with the restart
Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see
Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I’ve seen
Stars hide your fires,
These here are my desires
And I won’t give them up to you this time around
And so, I’ll be found with my stake stuck in this ground
Marking the territory of this newly impassioned soul
But you, you’ve gone too far this time
You have neither reason nor rhyme
With which to take this soul that is so rightfully mine
Keep Calm And Carry On: Words Of Wisdom For $19.99
I saw this sign yesterday in my 24/7 supermarket which has everything from grocercies to fine jewelry, including a section on wall-art and decor items like this. Good advice, I thought to myself, but I didn’t need to spend $19.99 to be reminded of it!
Still, taking this picture was not so bad an idea, given that it makes a lovely objet d’art for a post to this blog that celebrates the importance of the fact that the show must go on. Yes, the show MUST go on, regardless of the circumstances, and preferably this mantra of “Keep Calm and Carry On” is a good one to chant internally as we do just that.
Certain Prerequisites Before You Reach For The Stars (Or Moon!)
Jump into the middle of things, get your hands dirty, fall flat on your face, and then reach for the stars.
