Flying the Star Spangled Banner: Why Ever Not?

Yet another show that comes and goes each year during the month of July:  flying the U.S. flag on my front porch.  Why ever not?  I’m not making any huge political statement other than commemorating Independence Day marked on the fourth day of July.  This is, after all, the country that I have chosen to call home, and it is with great pride that I accepted its citizenship fifteen years ago.  Notwithstanding its complicated foreign policies and other questionable whatnots, this is still the only place I’d rather be.

I am proud to be an American, and am privileged to call it home!  Happy Fourth, Everyone!

Incidentally, this picture of my front porch (with my dear parents seated on the bench), blue skies above, green grass below, and a house that I own (with a loving husband and two gorgeous children inside!) is my idea of the American Dream.  Oh, I do have a white picket fence also, btw!
