February 13, Galatians 6:9

“So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.”

Galatians 6:9 MSG – A verse of the day from the Bible presented in Eugene Peterson’s contemporary version called The Message. Accompanied by a personal reflection below.

This has to be one of the most encouraging of passages from Paul’s letter to the early Christians in Galatia, and I daresay it is just as powerful to us even today.  Don’t become tired doing good, he says, and be patient for a great outcome in due time.  Also, never lose an opportunity to serve, especially to those who are your brothers and sisters in Christ.  May it be that we practice this exhortation every day.
