“If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.”
1 Corinthians 13:2 MSG – A verse of the day from the Bible presented in Eugene Peterson’s contemporary version called The Message. Accompanied by a personal reflection below.
This is such a powerful, profound, and phenomenal verse, it gives me chills. Seriously, just look at it! You may be a great preacher, teacher, interpreter, and speaker of God’s word, and you may be a warrior of great faith — the kind that moves mountains — mountains! But if you don’t have love, you are NOTHING! Are you with me, gentle reader? Love trumps all. And outlasts us all. Make it your life’s purpose to put love above all else, won’t you?
