Big Broadway musical is what it is. Slow story. Lovely ladies. Most convincing performance by Guido's wife (Ms. Cruz).
Guido (Day Lewis) is every man in some ways: influenced by all the women in his life and yet tortured, nay, self-tortured soul in the midst of a mid-life crisis. Grandiose the performances are– to the point of looking jaded at times. Guido's wife is the only one who finds herself in the end.
Conclusion: women rock. With or without men!
