Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

I don’t live on a staple of murder mysteries and thrillers, but I do make it my business to read one every now and then, especially if I hear a certain one is on the best list of the year.

Well, this one didn’t disappoint.  Gone girl is about a girl who goes missing, of course, but it is also about everything else that goes with her:  her marriage, her dreams, her hopes, and her best intentions.  And if all that seems too clichéd, perhaps it is, but then again, how can it not be?  When you’re young, in love, and have hopes for a bright future, you do everything in your power to hold it all together—until one day, perhaps you can’t or won’t.  But speaking of clichés, there are plenty of others in the story as well, including a husband who is the prime suspect for said gone girl.

A lightweight novel that keeps your interest to the very end.
