The fans own the magic. That’s what it’s been all about since the very beginning of this book and motion picture series, and was also vastly evident at the premiere opening of the very last picture of this Harry Potter enterprise. The fans come to see the end of the childhood and even adolescence of this famous trio, and watch with rapt attention as the special effects become more special, and their dear Harry, Hermione and Ron become master wizards, and learn to deal with life as adults. What a concept!
One can’t control life’s mysterious ways even with the best of wands, they learn, but with a little bit of luck and good friends and fortune, it is only a matter of time before the face of evil is conquered once and for all. Along the way, there’s some reflection and introspection, of course, and after all is said and done, we see this is essentially a story of the journey of a boy becoming a man. Doesn’t get more original than that, now!
